2EyesVision among the five winner start-ups in Headstart funding by EIT Health (EU)

The five Spanish startups pitch to win €50k in Headstart fundingare are: Onalabs Inno Hub, 2Eyes Vision, i Rethink Medical, Aelix Therapeutics and AVX Pharma

2EyesVision has been announced as one of the five winner start-ups in the Headstart funding program by EIT Health. The program provides financial support and mentoring to early-stage start-ups that are developing innovative healthcare solutions in Europe.

“We are thrilled to be recognized as one of the winner start-ups in the Headstart funding program by EIT Health,” said Carlos Dorronsoro, cofounder and CEO of 2EyesVision. “This funding will allow us to accelerate the development of our technology and bring it to market, ultimately helping to improve the lives of people affected by presbyopia.”

The Headstart funding program provides up to €50,000 in funding, as well as mentoring and training, to early-stage start-ups that are developing innovative healthcare solutions in Europe. The program aims to support the development of new products and services that can improve the health of individuals and the well-being of societies, while also promoting economic growth and job creation. According to the EIT Health, these start-ups have the potential to make a significant impact on healthcare and improve the lives of people across Europe and beyond.

The pitch took place at Barcelona Science Park, five start-ups were selected to receive a total of €50 000 in funding each in the EIT Health Spain Headstart 2017 competition. When the Headstart 2017 call closed, EIT Health Spain had received a total of 46 proposals, and these were winnowed down to 10 finalists, who participated in the pitch. The five winners chosen after making their pitchers are:

  • Aelix Therapeutics S.L.: A European cure for HIV Infection.
  • 2EyesVision: Technological and clinical validation of the SimVis technology to treat presbyopia with multifocal contact lenses.
  • Rethink Medical: T-Control Urinary Catheter.
  • Avizorex Pharma: A phase I/II proof-of-concept clinical study double-blind, placebo-controlled study assessing the safaty and efficacy of AVX-012 ophthalmic solution in subjetcs with mild to moderate dry eye syndrome.
  • Onalabs Healthcare Inno-Hub: Werable digital device for monitoring chronic patients with cardiac and respiratory diseases.
