Our Clinical Development Optometrist has been recognized for her excellent and thorough work with SimVis Gekko

The Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) awards the most relevant theses. Our 2Eyesvision Researcher, Xoana Barcala, was awarded for her “Binocular Simultaneous Vision Simulator: validation and implementation of the Sim+Vis technology in the clinic.” She developed the project at the Institute of Optics. The results of her thesis have therefore advanced the science of presbyopia correction and produced progress towards the clinical application of a technology-based product.

Most relevant doctoral thesis award

This award recognizes the doctoral theses carried out and defended by CSIC research staff that have stood out for their quality, impact, and relevance. The CSIC is divided into three areas: life, matter, and society. Optics belongs to physics, which is part of matter. There are 502 matter research groups, and they rewarded only 7 candidates.

According to the institution, her work is crucial for the advancement of knowledge. This award merits her to continue advancing in their research and professional careers. The awards ceremony was held this Friday, February 24, in the assembly hall of the CSIC headquarters, on Calle Serrano in Madrid.
