The case study: SimVis Gekko presented as an example of impactful science-to-market innovation from the CSIC ecosystem.

Madrid, Spain – On the occasion of the CSIC’s Scientific Entrepreneurship Forum, 2EyesVision took part in a landmark event focused on innovation and technology transfer. As a company born at the Institute of Optics “Daza de Valdés” of the CSIC, 2EyesVision was featured in the presentation of the first official report assessing the scientific, social, and economic impact of companies created within the CSIC framework.

The event was attended by Eloísa del Pino, President of the CSIC, Ana Castro, Vice President of Innovation and Transfer, and Diana Morant, Spain’s Minister of Science, Innovation and Universities. The minister underlined the vital role of science-based entrepreneurship in the creation of high-impact technology companies.

As part of the event, a video shared by CSIC showcased SimVis Gekko, the visual simulation system developed by 2EyesVision—an innovation that has successfully transitioned from lab research to real-world application in ophthalmology clinics around the world.

This recognition reinforces the importance of supporting deep-tech startups in bridging the gap between research and patient benefit, especially in highly specialized fields such as ophthalmology and visual science.
