Enrique Gambra, PhD

Dr. Enrique Gambra is a highly skilled physician with over 15 years of experience in product development and research and development (R&D), primarily focused on eye diagnostic instruments. Since February 2016, he has been working at 2EyesVision, where he has made significant contributions to the advancement of cutting-edge technology such as SimVis Gekko.

Enrique possesses strong expertise in designing and implementing optical systems, with a specialization in Adaptive Optics, Fourier-Domain Optical Coherence Tomography, and Visual Simulators. He is proficient in software tools such as Zemax, Mathworks Matlab, and VisualC++.net. He is a native Spanish speaker and demonstrates excellent proficiency in both written and spoken English. Additionally, he has a good command of written and spoken French and possesses basic knowledge of the Dutch language.

Before joining 2EyesVision, Enrique worked as an Optical Engineer at i-Optics B.V. in the Netherlands, where he was responsible for system architecture, development, and modeling of eye diagnostic instruments. Dr. Gambra’s expertise is reinforced by his academic accomplishments. He completed his Ph.D. in 2015 at the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) in Spain, focusing on the development of innovative instruments such as Adaptive Optics and OCT. He has also presented his research results at international scientific conferences and published several peer-reviewed scientific journals, including collaborative works with research groups in the USA.

Throughout his career, Enrique Gambra has received several notable grants and awards that highlight his expertise in the field of optics. He was honored with the prestigious Torres-Quevedo Industrial Post-doctoral Grant, recognizing exceptional researchers in industrial environments. Additionally, he was awarded the I3P Predoctoral Grant by CSIC. At the beginning of his career, he earned the Bronze Medal in the Spanish Mathematics Olympiad. Dr. Gambra’s extensive experience and educational background make him a valuable asset to any team working in the field of eye diagnostic instruments.
