Se emple\u00f3 un simulador de visi\u00f3n simult\u00e1nea bicanal modificado, provisto de un modulador espacial de luz de transmisi\u00f3n en amplitud, para simular \u00f3pticamente 14 patrones bifocales segmentados (adici\u00f3n de +3 dioptr\u00edas) con diferentes distribuciones pupilar lejana\/cercana de igual energ\u00eda. Cinco sujetos con acomodaci\u00f3n paralizada evaluaron la calidad de imagen y la preferencia subjetiva a trav\u00e9s de las correcciones bifocales segmentadas. Existen diferencias perceptuales fuertes y sistem\u00e1ticas entre los patrones, los sujetos y las distancias de observaci\u00f3n: el 48% de las condiciones evaluadas fueron significativamente preferidas o rechazadas. Las simulaciones \u00f3pticas (en t\u00e9rminos de la relaci\u00f3n de Strehl en foco cruzado obtenida a partir de aberrometr\u00eda Hartmann-Shack) predijeron con precisi\u00f3n el patr\u00f3n que produjo la mayor calidad percibida en 4 de cada 5 pacientes, tanto para visi\u00f3n lejana como cercana.
